Mo Bobat Appointed as Director of Cricket at London Spirit

Mo Bobat has been appointed as the Director of Cricket at London Spirit and will be taking up the role from October 01, 2025.

The former England Men’s Performance Director and current Director of Cricket at Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL becomes the first major appointment as the franchise prepares for the 2026 season.

Bobat’s arrival comes as Spirit enter a new ownership era, with MCC holding 51% stake in the team and US-based tech investment group investment group Tech Titans owning the remaining 49%.

The ECB recently confirmed all eight Hundred teams will transition to private ownership. Meanwhile, London Spirit will retain its name under the new structure with a rebrand planned for early 2026.

Speaking about his new role, Mo Bobat said, “It’s an honour to join London Spirit at such an exciting time. The opportunity to shape the cricketing future of this franchise, working with MCC and our new partners, the Tech Titans, is incredibly exciting. I’m looking forward to building something special – on and off the field.”

Mo Bobat is currently serving as Director of Cricket for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL, a role in which he played an important part in guiding the franchise to its long awaited maiden IPL title in 2025.

Before his IPL stint, Bobat has served as performance Director for the England Men’s Team.
