Ravi Shastri has named the rising star of the Indian cricket team. According to him, Shubman Gill is here to stay for a long time. The 25-year-old scored 750 runs at an average of 75.40, with four centuries in the five-match Test series against England. He was named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July.

“Shubman Gill is the rising star and he will be around for a long time. Gill is only 25 years of age and he will get better,” he said on Sky Sports.

“He is right up there and there is something regal about him. Gill has the ability to play long innings,” he added.

In 2025, Gill scored 1234 runs in 20 innings, with six hundreds across all formats of the game. The right-handed batter is the second-highest run-getter this year, with Ben Duckett leading the list, having accumulated 1290 runs in 23 matches, laced with three fifties.
