Delhi: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced its teams for the upcoming series against South Africa and Ireland. With the team selection, the board has taken a historic step and appointed 21 -year -old young player Jacob Bethel as the new captain of England. This decision remains the subject of big discussion in the cricket world.

Team for South Africa Series

The England team will face South Africa at their home ground in early September. From 2 to 15 September, 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches will be played between the two teams. England have launched their strongest squad for this series, which will be commanded by Harry Brook. The team includes big players like Jofra Archer, Jose Butler, Joe Root and Ben Docket.

Bethel’s command on Ireland tour

The same month England will also visit Ireland, where a series of 3 T20 matches is to be played. For this series, England has decided to relax its senior and all-format players. In such a situation, Bethel has got a chance to captain it. This will be the first time of his career when he leads the England team in an international match, as soon as Bethel will lead the team in Dublin, he will become the youngest international captain in England Men’s cricket history.

It is worth noting that Jacob Bethel is currently part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), in which Virat Kohli also plays.
