Why was this decision taken?

This decision was taken after the cases revealed during the recently held Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. In this series, India’s wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant and England all -rounder Chris Woakes suffered a serious injury. Pant fractured the foot finger during batting in the fourth Test. At the same time, while fielding Vox is suffering from shoulder injury.

According to the current rules of the ICC, replacement is not allowed in any other injury other than conversion. However, these incidents intensified the discussion on the new rules, after which the BCCI took a big step.

Injury replacement criteria

Replacement will be allowed only under the new BCCI rules when:

-Cot started playing inside the ground.
-Cot has been caused by external shocks, such as fracture or deep cut.
-Hayal player should be considered unqualified to play the rest of the match.

Replacement process

-Tam manager will request replacement for the injured player and reports the entire incident.
-Ampire, match referee and doctors on the field will decide whether the matter is eligible for replacement.
-Match referee will ensure that the replacement is like-for-Laik, so that the team does not get any unfair benefit.

Who will replace the injured player?

-The captain will have to declare the names of the possible replacement players before the toss.
-In case of the crime, any of the same nominated players will be included.
-There will be special discounts in the case of the winner. If the reserve wicketkeeper is not present among the nominated players, then the captain can also include a wicketkeeper from outside.

Where and when the new rule will apply?

This rule will only apply to India’s red -ball domestic competitions. It will begin with the Dalip Trophy (starting from August 28). It will also be followed in events like under-19 level CK Naidu Trophy. However, white -ball tournaments like Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy will currently be out of this purview.
