Jasprit Bumrah to miss a few games in Asia Cup 2025: Former RCB player makes a bold statement

Jasprit Bumrah is a part of Team India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025, but former RCB batter AB de Villiers thinks that the speedster will miss a few matches in the Continental Cup, which starts on September 9.

The 31-year-old played three out of the five Tests in the series against England. He was injured during the last Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year and was ruled out for several months. The BCCI, selectors, and the team management decided to manage his workload. Talking about Bumrah’s selection, De Villiers said:

“It is good to see him in the team as he is fit and ready to go. He will not play all the games, and I read somewhere that he will compete in the important games. I love the fact that selectors are proactive. This is how you manage senior players,” he said.

“They are not picking and choosing. A lot of cricket is being played these days, and it takes a toll on the bodies of the players. You will get the best out of older guys once you start managing them. It is good that they have started doing it with Jasprit Bumrah,” he added.

Bumrah is likely to miss the two-match Test series against the West Indies at home.
