His innings included 13 fours and 9 sixes. Apart from Ponting, Mike Hussey scored 81, Simon Katich 79 and Adam Gilchrist scored 55 runs. Australia scored 434 runs losing 4 wickets in 50 overs. However, South Africa made history by achieving this goal with one ball remaining.

Travis Head played a stormy innings of 142 runs off 103 balls, including 17 fours and 5 sixes. Captain Mitchell Marsh scored 100 runs in 106 balls and decorated his innings in a brilliant manner.
