The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had an impressive season, clinching their maiden title in the IPL 2025 season under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar.

They secured a six-run victory against the Punjab Kings in the finals played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, to end their 17-year trophy drought.

Despite their win, RCB are set to release some players before the IPL 2026 auction to free up some purse value to make some valuable signings during the event.

They are likely to release a few players who are underperforming or didn’t fit into their title-winning squad during the IPL 2025 season.

The event is likely to be held in the January-February window ahead of the IPL 2026 tournament, which usually follows the March-May window.

According to IPL 2026 auction rules, there are no restrictions on the number of players who can be released or retained.

In addition to the purse remaining from the previous auction and the value of the players they release, teams will likely to have a total purse value of INR 151 crore for the upcoming season.

Listed below are players likely to be released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

  • Liam Livingstone
  • Mayank Agarwal
  • Rasikh greetings
  • Yash dayal

Liam Livingstone

The England cricketer who joined RCB for INR 8.75 crore did not live up to the standards in the 2025 season. He scored only 112 runs in 10 innings with a high score of 54 runs against Gujarat Titans.

He did not bowl much picking only two wickets in four matches. With the lack of consistency, he is likely to be released ahead of the auction.

Rasikh greetings

Rasikh Salam Dar who joined RCB for INR 6 crore during 2025 mega auction did not get much opportunities as he played only 2 games where he conceded 35 runs in both games and picked up just 1 wicket.

With much limited game time, he is one of the names in the RCB released players. With that kind of amount, it might be better to invest in some other promising Indian talent.
