Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood made a stunning statement ahead of the Ashes 2025-26 and also admitted that England has an unbelievable batting line-up and his team will face a challenge in tackling batters.

The Ashes 2025-26 will be the next test series for Australia and England in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2025-27. The much-awaited test series will commence on November 21 with the opening game in Perth.

Australia whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in their most recent test series while England secured a 2-2 draw in the five-match series against India in their previous campaign.

On this occasion, Josh Hazlewood said that Harry Brook and Joe Root are in peak form and are expected to perform in Australia during the Ashes 2025-26.

He also added up England’s top seven batter have done will in tests, hence, they have an unbelivable batting line-up.

“England has obviously been quite flat wickets recently, the last few years, and it’s been a really dry summer as well, so they are probably starting to get tired and spin now. I think (Brook) will adapt. He’s a good player. He’s at the top of the rankings for a reason, and he’ll be a tough challenge,” he said.

“I think a fresh face like Harry Brook might find it easier. There’s no baggage behind him and he can just come out and play with freedom as he does. Joe’s probably in the form of his life as well. So they’re an unbelievable batting line, to be honest. The top seven have done really well…so it’s a challenge,” he added.

Ahead of the Ashes, Australia will play a T20I series against New Zealand and a white-ball series against India ahead of Ashes 2025-26, while England will be in white-ball series against South Africa and New Zealand in the meantime.

They will also face Ireland in a T20I series. Notably, many Australia players will also play a few games in the Sheffield Shield ahead of the Ashes.
