Delhi: The news of Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson going to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) now seems to be weakening. According to reports, CSK is not looking very active about this deal, and there has been no significant response from the Royals.

Sanju himself demanded release

If sources are to be believed, Sanju Samson has demanded the franchise to release himself after IPL 2025. Before the mega auction of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals retained him for Rs 18 crore. However, he could play only 9 matches in that season because he had a problem of side strain. During this, Ryan Parag captained the team.

Final decision in the owner’s hand

An internal formula of the franchise told Revsportz, “Our boss (Manoj Badale) will decide on this, decide the same.” He also made it clear that there has been no differences between Sanju and Head Coach Rahul Dravid. Regarding the captaincy, he also said, “This decision will also be taken by the owner.”

CSK currently shown up

After the end of IPL 2024, Sanju Samson had informal conversations with some CSK officials. At that time Chennai team was considering taking Sanju, especially due to uncertainty about MS Dhoni’s future. But now CSK’s interest has cooled down. A CSK official said, “No, no, we are not having any kind of conversation with Rajasthan Royals. All these are rumors. Can’t say what will happen next, but nothing is going on now.”

Team India also in danger

Sanju Samson is included in India’s T20 team for the Asia Cup. But after the return of Shubman Gill as the vice-captain, it can be difficult to find a place in Sanju’s playing XI.
