Mohit Sharma told how Dhoni got angry at him in a CLT20 match. Dhoni had asked Ishwar Pandey to give the ball but Mohit had taken the runup. The umpire asked him to bowl. Dhoni had even abused in anger.
Delhi: Former Indian captain MS Dhoni has always been seen as a calm and sensible captain. But, it is not that he never got angry. Dhoni himself has also believed that he has lost his temper on some occasions. One such funny story was recently shared by former Team India bowler Mohit Sharma.
Mohit and Dhoni have played cricket many years for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2015 World Cup and IPL. But, this story is of Champions League T20, which is still fresh in Mohit’s mind.
Mohit said in an interview, “Mahi bhai is always calm. When he is angry, it is also a little fun as a young player. In a match, Mahi Bhai called Ishwar Pandey for bowling. But, I felt that he had called me. I came to bowl with a runup. But, Mahi Bhai said that Mahi Bhai said that he had not called me. I have to fulfill the over. Mahi Bhai got angry and abused me.
Mohit further said that Dhoni teaches not only cricket but also about life. Whenever you sit with them, you get to learn something new. He is a very straightforward and clean thinking person.
He said, “Mahi bhai always keeps things easy. In the team, he often talks about common sense. If the ground is bumpy then there is no need to run after the ball. If the wind is moving then it should be bowled accordingly. They always talk about the things that are under our control.”
