The ZC has announced a 16-member Zimbabwe squad for the Sri Lanka series, which features the return of Sean Williams and Brendan Taylor.
Following the poor show in the ODI series of the Sri Lanka tour of Zimbabwe 2025, the hosts will be aiming to bounce back in the T20I series.
Taylor who made recent comeback in ODI and Test formats, has returned to T20Is after serving an ICC ban.
Alongside Williams, Brad Evans and Tadiwanashe Marumani have also earned places in the squad. Newman Nyahuri, Wessly Madhevere, Vincent Masekesa and Tafadzwa Tsiga are the names missing from the teams’s previous T20I assignment in the tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
The series will precede the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa qualifier, which begins later this month in Harare.
Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka has clashed in only six T20Is, the last of which was in January 2024. Sri Lanka had won the three-match series after Zimbabwe levelled it with victory in the second match.
The first match of the T20I series will begin on September 03 at Harare Sports Club.
