After the victory of RCB on June 4, when thousands of fans reached the Chinnaswamy Stadium, many people lost their lives in the stampede. After this, the team launched an initiative called RCB Care and announced a assistance of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased.

RCB was criticized a lot after the stampede incident. There was no post from his social media handle for three months. On August 28, he wrote, “Our silence was a symbol of mourning. We were listening, understanding and making something new, in which we trust.”
