Shreyas Iyer did not sleep after playing an unbeaten innings of 87 runs against Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad on Sunday, as he recorded his name in the record book for the first time in 11 years by taking Punjab Kings to the IPL final for the first time in 11 years. But the Punjab captain admitted that he still did not have rest, as the most important match of the tournament is yet to be encountered, where they will face Royal Challengers at Narendra Modi Stadium from Bangalore. With the help of Josh England, Priyansh Arya and Nehal Vadhera, Iyer played a brilliant innings in the second qualifier of IPL 2025, ending the runs of Mumbai, scoring a target of 204 runs with one over remaining.

Happy, but not satisfied …

Speaking to the press before the final in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, Iyer spoke about the devastating area against Mumbai Indians, which he said that it started a day before the match and continued till the last six. But he is still not satisfied due to non -completion of work. He said that when I say I am in my field of sports, it starts with warm-up before the match and how you plan and see the game. Once I was fully ready, I knew how I would unite my players, and they did a great job in keeping them limited to 203. From there, I had a definite plan how I would play on the surface of that red soil. We got a beautiful start from our openers, and then Josh came to number 3, so I felt that I would get some time. Once when I looked at me, it was all about the flow and supporting my tendency. Happy, but not satisfied.

Iyer said – I could not sleep …

When Iyer was asked about his sleep after the match ended at around 1:40 pm, he said that he was able to get only four hours of sleep before joining the pre-final process, including a press conference. He said that I could not sleep. Last night I got only four hours of sleep, and I am here. I went to my room. And then the next thing I came to know is that I am doing PC here.
