Udaipur (Read News). MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat has raised the demand to increase the proposed Vande Bharat train from Udaipur to Surat (Gujarat). In this regard, he has written a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
MP Dr. Rawat told in the letter that the electrification work of Udaipur-Ahmedabad rail track has been completed, which was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With its completion, the passengers of South Rajasthan have paved the way for direct rail service from Udaipur to Surat, Mumbai and South India.
Dr. Rawat said that the new Vande Bharat train from Udaipur (Rajasthan) to Asarwa (Gujarat) is proposed by Western Railway. Its time has been departed from Udaipur at 06:10 am and coming to Asarwa at 10:25 am, while departing from Asarwa at 05:45 pm and returning to Udaipur at 10:00 pm. During this time, the train will stand at Asarwa station for more than seven hours.
According to the MP, the entire use of the train will be possible only when it is extended to Surat. Thousands of traders and common people from Mewar and Vagad region of South Rajasthan regularly travel to Surat and surrounding areas. Surat is a major commercial center, where a large number of passengers can be provided safe and convenient rail service.
MP Dr. Rawat urged the Railway Minister to expand the proposed Udaipur-Ashawa Vande Bharat train to Surat and the officials should be directed for this.
It is worth noting that in the North Western Railway meeting held in Jaipur on Friday, MP Dr. Rawat also reiterated this demand.
