Former Indian cricketer Mithun Manhas has been appointed as the new president of BCCI.

Delhi: The process of major changes has started in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). On Saturday, senior administrators of the board held an informal meeting, in which the names for the vacant posts were fixed before the annual general meeting (AGM) to be held on 28 September. Significantly, the Asia Cup 2025 is being organized in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where Team India is performing brilliantly under the captaincy of veteran batsman Suryakumar Yadav.

Mithun Manhas will be new president

Former Indian cricketer Mithun Manhas has been appointed as the new president of BCCI. He has been a part of domestic cricket for a long time and will now take administrative responsibility.

Shukla again became vice president

BCCI experienced administrator and senior leader Rajiv Shukla has once again got the responsibility of the post of Vice President. He has the experience of working on this position earlier also.

Raghuram Bhatt appointed treasurer

Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) President and former India spinner Raghuram Bhatt has been made the new treasurer of BCCI. His term of the post of KSCA President is ending on 30 September, after which he will take this new role.

Status on posts of secretary and joint secretary

Devjit Saikia will continue in the post of secretary, while Prabhtej Bhatia can also remain as a treasurer. The names of Jayesh George and Rohan Desai are being considered for the Joint Secretary. At the same time, Arun Dhumal will continue his responsibility for the post of IPL chairman.

Who is Mithun Manhas?

Born on 12 October 1979 in Jammu, Mithun Manhas is known as an experienced face of Indian cricket. The cricket career of the trusted batsman of the middle order and the former player who played the role of off -spin bowler in part time was 18 years long.

Manhas scored a total of 9,714 runs playing 157 first class matches, with his highest score 145 runs and average 39.89. During this time, he also scored 27 centuries. Under his captaincy, Delhi’s Ranji Trophy team won several titles.

Manhas has also contributed to the IPL. He guided the team as a collaborative staff of Gujarat Titans (GT). He is currently working as a administrator of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
