India have displayed remarkable form during the Asia Cup, dominating their opponents in every facet of the game, thanks to Suryakumar Yadav‘s leadership.

Following the conclusion of the Asia Cup, India will host the West Indies, captained by Roston Chase, for two Test matches on home soil.

Saikia added that the squad for the West Indies series will be unveiled on either September 23 or 24. The selection meeting will be held online with the BCCI selection committee.

“The selection for the Indian Test team for the upcoming series against the West Indies will take place on September 23 or 24. The selection meeting will be held online,” Saikia informed reporters at the BCCI headquarters, as reported by TOI.

India players in focus ahead of squad selection

Key Indian cricketers recently auditioned for Test spots in an unofficial match against Australia-A. While Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, and Narayan Jagadeesan impressed, Shreyas Iyer‘s comeback hopes were weakened by poor returns.

The selectors may rest Jasprit Bumrah for the home series, given the limited role pacers play on India’s spin-friendly pitches. Karun Nair could also be excluded after failing to capitalise on opportunities in England.

The first Test will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from October 2-6, with the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from October 10-14.
