Delhi: India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs to make it to the final of the Asia Cup 2025. Bangladesh had a target of 169 runs, but in front of the Indian bowlers, their entire team could score 127 runs. Saif Hasan played a brilliant innings of 69 runs, but he could not get any special support.
In this match, the Indian spin bowlers once again troubled the opposition batsmen a lot. Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets, while Varun Chakraborty took 2 wickets. The fast bowlers also kept pressure in between and did not allow Bangladesh’s innings to be careful.
By winning the toss, Bangladesh invited India to bat first. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill made 72 runs in the powerplay with a strong start. Gill returned to the pavilion after scoring 29 runs, but Abhishek continued the aggressive game. Sharma was moving towards a century, but one run out stopped his innings for 75 runs in 37 balls. After his dismissal, the Indian run slowed down and the team was able to score 168 runs in 20 overs instead of crossing 200.
After winning the match, Suryakumar Yadav said, “We did not get a chance to bat much before in this tournament. We did batting first against Oman, but we wanted to do so in Super Four. Bangladesh had a leg spinner and a left -handed spinner, so we thought that we thought that Dubey could play well between 7 to 15 overs, but he could not succeed.”
He further said, “If the outfield was a bit fast, we could have reached 180-185. Despite this, we were confident that our bowling is so strong that we can win the match by putting 12-14 good overs.”
