KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan have slammed centuries in the record-breaking run chase against Australia A and secured a five-wicket win at Ekana Stadium.
The duo’s brilliance has helped the side to secure a series win by 1-0 after the first match ended in a draw.
KL Rahul made a unbeaten 176 runs in 412 run chase which was supported by Sai Sudharsan’s century.
Resuming on 169 runs of 2, with another 243 runs required for victory, the game was in the balance heading into the final day.
The wicket brought Rahul and Sai Sudharsan back together at the crease after the former had retired hurt on the previous day after sharing a 65-run stand on day 03.
Both batters soon bought up half century when Sudharsan began to unleash back to back shorts and tried to catch up with KL Rahul.
Rahul reached his century after lunch as the Australia attack continued to struggle as they failed to pick wickets. Sai Sudharsan got off in Corey Rocchiccioli’s delivery right after his century.
With India needing 145 runs, Dhruv Jurel came in and scored 56 runs off 66 deliveries which included five fours and three sixes.
KL Rahul went on to his 150 runs as India march steadily towards victory, as his 176* run knock included 16 fours and 4 sixes. With Nitish Reddy chipped in with three boundaries as India completed a famous win.
