The 2025 edition of the Asia Cup 2025 concluded on Sunday, September 28, with India’s 5-wicket win. In the summit clash played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, despite losing Abhishek Sharma (5), captain Suryakumar Yadav (1), and Shubman Gill (12) early in the 147-run chase, Team India managed to get the better of the Salman Ali Agha-led team. The 5-wicket win over Men in Green in Dubai helped India win the Asia Cup title for the record-extending ninth time.
In the final, Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets for 30 runs in four overs for the hosts, and two batters each were sent back to the pavilion by Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel.
In the Asia Cup 2025, despite failing to do much with the bat in the final, Abhishek finished as the highest run getter. The 25-year-old left-handed batter played seven matches and amassed a total of 314 runs.
Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka is second on the list with 261 runs in six matches, and Sahibzada Farhan’s tally of 217 runs helped him take the third position.
In the Super 4s match between India and Sri Lanka in Dubai on Friday, September 26, Sri Lanka’s Nissanka scored 107 runs from 58 balls in the 203-run chase. His 107-run knock helped him top the list of batters with the highest individual scores in the 2025 Asia Cup.
Abhishek smacked 19 sixes in seven matches for India,a which helped him top the list of batters with most sixes in the Asia Cup 2025. Bangladesh’s Saif Hassan is second on the list with 12 maximums in four matches.
Kuldeep played all seven matches for India and picked up 17 wickets. He topped the list of bowlers with the most wickets in the Asia Cup 2025. In addition to dismissing the most batters in this year’s Asia Cup, Kuldeep also broke the record of taking the most wickets in the Asia Cup (ODIs and T20Is combined). He has dismissed 36 batters in 18 Asia Cup matches played so far. Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga is second on the list with 33 wickets in 15 matches.
In India’s first match of the Asia Cup 2025, which was played against the United Arab Emirates on September 10 in Dubai, Kuldeep finished with figures of 4 for 7 in 2.1 overs, and it helped him top the list of best bowling figures in the Asia Cup 2025.
In the final of the Asia Cup 2025, he once again picked up 4 wickets but conceded 30 runs in four overs. UAE’s Junaid Siddique also picked up two four-fers, and in the Sri Lanka-Afghanistan match on September 18, Nuwan Thushara also picked up four wickets.
