Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batting coach Ryan ten Doeschate feels that the way the batsmen are scoring runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, there is an atmosphere of fear among the bowlers. Punjab Kings (PBKS) successfully chased a historic target in T20 cricket at the Eden Gardens Stadium on Friday. Punjab team achieved the target of 262 runs with 8 wickets in 18.4 overs.

Speaking in the press conference after the match, Ten Doeschate gave a statement regarding the bowlers. The former Netherlands captain believes that KKR could have scored 260 runs as the first innings score any day, but the nature of the pitches and the batsmen have made the game very difficult for the bowlers.
43-year-old Ryan ten Doeschate said, “I think the way the batting is going in the competition. If anything, it is a fear for the bowlers, but I think this is a completely new phenomenon, the way the batsmen are batting, it seems as if they are just taking a step back. As you say, Sunil is brilliant, others will be disappointed because of the performance we have had.”
He further said, “We have to find ways to contain the batsmen, take the game away from them, as they have been doing in the tournament.”

The former KKR player said, “I think bowling in the IPL is not a matter of concern, but as I said, it is taking a lot of time for people to find a way to stop it. This is something we will continue to work on. We are not worried.”
Score of 250+ has been made 7 times so far in IPL 2024
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team has scored 250+ thrice, KKR has crossed the 250-run mark twice. Apart from this, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have scored 250+ once each. That is, it is surprising that more than 250 runs have been scored 7 times in a single season of this T20 tournament.
