The top order batter Saif Hasan has earned his maiden ODI call-up in the 16-member Bangladesh squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, which is set to be played later this month.

The squad remains largely unchanged from the team that featured in the ODI series against Sri Lanka earlier this year, with two exceptions.

With Litton Das ruled out due to injury, Parvez Hossain Emon has been left out for the ODI series.

“Litton Kumer Das misses out as he continues his recovery from a side strain while Parvez Hossain Emon has been left out,” BCB said in a statement.

“Right-hander Saif Hassan has earned a call-up to the ODI setup for the first time. The 26-year-old has been included following a string of impressive performances in recent T20 internationals and is expected to add depth to the top order,” it added.

Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam and Nahid Rana will be travelling UAE to join the rest of the squad.

On the other hand, left hand opener Md Naim Sheikh is still awaiting visa clearance and will be departing once it is obtained. Soumya Sarkar who has been named in the Bangladesh T20I squad currently involved in the series against Afghanistan.

Bangladesh secured an unassisable 2-0 lead in the T20I series and will play their final match on October 05 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
