Paris, 28 February. The Laurerus World Sports Academy announced on Thursday that it was withdrawing the nomination of Italian tennis player Janik Sinner for the 2025 Laurerus World Sportsman of the Year Award. This decision has been taken after a three -month suspension by the World Anti -Doping Agency (Wada).
The academy made it clear in the email sent to the enrollment panel that due to the suspension, the sinners are no longer eligible for this award.
Wada had revealed earlier this month that the dope test of Cinner for Clostbol came in March 2024. Subsequently, he entered a case resolution agreement and accepted a three -month ban. However, he also clarified that he did not deliberately consume the banned substance and this did not improve his performance. Despite this, athletes are responsible for the works of their assistant personnel.
The complete list of people enrolled for the Laureus World Sports Awards 2025 will be declared on 3 March.
