Lucknow, 27 February. The team of UP Warriors, who is performing brilliantly in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), has reached Lucknow for its first domestic phase. Under the leadership of Captain Deepti Sharma, the team has so far shown an exciting game and now with the intention of confirming a place in the playoffs, is ready to land in its home ground Ekna Stadium.
On reaching Lucknow, the team was given a grand welcome with fans and cultural programs organized at KD Singh Stadium. UP Warriors owner Capri Sports director Jinisha Sharma said that the team is in excellent form and is ready to perform tremendously on the home ground.
The UP Warriors team will start their domestic phase against Gujarat giants on 03 March. After this, on March 06, he will play against Mumbai Indians and on March 08 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Even though the team did not have a good start in Vadodara, but after this UP Warriors defeated Delhi Capitals and RCB and achieved rhythm. For the team, Grace Harris created history by taking a hat -trick in the tournament, which was only third in WPL history and the second hat for UP Warriors. At the same time, Chiinel Henry scored an unbeaten 62 in 23 balls and performed a bang and scored a half -century in 18 balls, jointly scored the fastest half -century of WPL. While Saufi Eklestone, who is World No-1 bowler in the T20 rankings, won the Player of the Match title by performing brilliantly in the super over against RCB.
Among the Indian players, captain Deepti Sharma has led a brilliant leadership with both bat and ball. At the same time, Kiran Navgire, Vrinda Dinesh, Shweta Sehrawat and Kranti Gaur have also made useful contribution.
