NZW vs SAW Playing 11: Sophie Devine-led New Zealand will square off against Laura Wolvaardt-led South Africa in the 7th match of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on October 06 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.
New Zealand and South Africa women have met on 74 occasions, where White Ferns have won on 27 occasions, while South Africa have secured 42 victories.
New Zealand suffered an 89-run victory against Australia Women in their opener match of the tournament, while South Africa suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat against England Women.
New Zealand and South Africa Women were at the bottom of the Women’s ODI World Cup points table and will be aiming for a win in the upcoming clash to advance in the standings.
New Zealand Won the toss and opted to bat. Speaking at the toss, Sophie Devine said, “We are going to have bat first today. It is a pretty good surface and didn’t change much in the last game.”
“We have the benefit of knowing what will be a good total on this surface. We know how threatening the South Africa bowling line-up can be. There has been a bit of rain today. Same team,” concluded Devine.
Meanwhile, Laura Wolvaardt said, “Yeah, don’t mind it too much. I think it’ll be a hard wicket to defend later on the leg, so don’t mind chasing that. Took our learnings from it, but at the same time, put it behind us as quickly as we could.”
“Obviously, a quick turnaround, but I think that’s a good thing to come off today and really start the tournament properly again. No changes,” concluded Wolvaardt.
