Ajit Agarkar became selector of Team India in July 2023. At this time, talks of change in Team India were going on, but still it did not seem to happen. But once Agarkar took charge, he slowly started a round of change and it started with two big veterans of the Test team.

Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara's leaf, who has made the biggest identity as a pure Test batsman in the Indian team in the last decade, also cut the leaf first. Pujara was ruled out of Team India since playing the final of the World Test Championship 2023. Only after this final, Agarkar was made the chief selector and Pujara could not return again. Ajinkya Rahane
