Delhi: South African veteran batsman AB de Villiers believes that India’s young batsman Abhishek Sharma will perform brilliantly in the upcoming five -match T20 series against Australia. He said that Abhishek likes to play on bouncy pitches and Australia’s conditions will be perfect for his playing style.

Abhishek Sharma batted well in the Asia Cup 2025 and was the top scorer of the tournament by scoring 314 runs. His debuts strengthened India on many occasions and thanks to his strong batting, India won the Asia Cup title for the ninth time.

De Villiers praised Abhishek

Talking on his YouTube channel, de Villiers said, “Abhishek Sharma is currently in the best form of his career. Some people are also saying that he is currently the best opener in the world in T20 format. He likes bounce and he will enjoy playing on Australia’s pitches.”

De Villiers further said, “He specializes in playing shots on the off side. He hits sixes in the direction from point to third man. Also plays great stroke on the leg side. He is an all -round batter and loves to play.”
