Lucknow: Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has compared young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal with former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. Let us tell you that Ganguly has been such a player who has done excellent hitting against spinners and he also played brilliantly against fast bowling. Apart from this, Ganguly has been one of the great captains of India and hence he cannot be compared with any player but Irfan has pointed out the similarity in the game of these two players.
Jaiswal has recently scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket and international cricket also. He had scored more than 700 runs in the Test series played against England this year and became only the second Indian player to do so. So in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, he could not perform well in the first few matches but he made a great comeback by scoring a century in the match against Mumbai Indians. In such a situation, looking at his batting, Pathan has given a big statement during a conversation on Star Sports.

He said, “After Sourav Ganguly, if I have seen any player playing such a great game on the off side, then it is Yashasvi Jaiswal. If he continues to play like this for the next 10 years, we will be seen singing praises of him.”
Let us tell you that Ganguly was also a left-handed batsman and he was also seen batting in the upper order on most occasions. Now Yashasvi is also a top order batsman like him and has been performing well for some time. The 22-year-old player has played 9 matches so far in IPL 2024, in which he has scored 249 runs at an average of 31.12 and strike rate of 154.66. During this period he has played one century innings.
If we look at the international cricket career of the left-handed batsman, he has played 9 Test matches so far, in which he has scored 1028 runs with an average of more than 68. During this period, he has scored 3 centuries and 4 half-centuries, which also includes two double centuries. So the star player has played 17 T-20 matches in which he has scored 502 runs at an average of about 162 and during this he has scored one century and 4 half-centuries from his bat.
