Vaibhav Suryavanshi recently showed his aggressive side in a match. The batter has been hogging the limelight since making his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals. In the 18th season of the tournament, he scored 252 runs in just seven matches, including a sensational hundred against the Gujarat Titans. The southpaw has given consistent performances for the India U19 side. However, he lost his cool on Day 1 of the second Youth Test against Australia U19.

Suryavanshi was on 20 runs off 14 balls when the umpire declared him out on Charles Lachmund’s delivery. The RR batter claimed that the ball touched his pads and not the bat. He hit the bat on his pads, but the decision stood. Vaibhav was upset but left the field after seeing no reaction from the umpire.

He recently scored the fourth-fastest Youth Test hundred, taking 78 balls to reach the milestone against Australia U19. He is also the only batter after New Zealand great Brendon McCullum to smash two men’s U19 Test matches in less than 100 deliveries.

Zubin Bharucha, who is the Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) Director of High Performance, wants the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel to give the young player a chance like Sachin Tendulkar.

“He should play for India, like Sachin did as a youngster. They have to include him immediately, as he is another zone. At least, give him a chance in the India A team. He would have scored a double hundred against the Australian attack that took on India A guys,” Bharucha told the Times of India.
