Afghanistan vs Bangladesh, 1st ODI: Afghanistan has started the ODI series against Bangladesh with a bang.
From Rashid Khan's double century to Afghanistan's victory, everything was seen in the first ODI. The result was that after losing the T20 series 0-2, Afghanistan has now taken an unmatched lead of 1-0 in the 3-ODI series. The first match of the ODI series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh was played on 8 October in Abu Dhabi, in which the host team i.e. Afghanistan won by 5 wickets.The most special thing about the first ODI played between Afghanistan and Bangladesh was Rashid Khan's double century. He became the first player from Afghanistan to do so in ODI.
Now if you are thinking that Rashid Khan has completed a double century with the bat in ODI, then it is not so. This is not a double century made by adding one run each in an inning of ODI, but a double century completed by his wickets in his ODI career.Rashid Khan did this feat in the 107th innings of 115 matches in his 10-year ODI career. In the first ODI of the series against Bangladesh, he took 3 wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs. During this performance, as soon as he took the first wicket, he completed 200 wickets in One Day Internationals.
Before the first ODI against Bangladesh, Rashid Khan's number of wickets was 199 wickets in 106 innings of 114 matches. But, after the first ODI against Bangladesh, he now has 202 wickets.In the first ODI, the entire Bangladesh team, batting first, was all out in 48.5 overs. He scored 221 runs. Two batsmen scored half-centuries for Bangladesh. Captain Mehdi Hasan scored the maximum of 60 runs while Tauheed Huday played an inning of 56 runs. Apart from Rashid Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai also took 3 wickets from Afghanistan.
Now Afghanistan had a target of 222 runs, chasing which its opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a brilliant 50 runs. Apart from him, Rahmat Shah also played an inning of 50 runs. All-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who took 3 wickets with the ball, also opened his hands with the bat and scored 40 runs in 44 balls and played an important role in helping Afghanistan cross the threshold of victory. Afghanistan reached the target in just 17 balls and won the match and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Azmatullah Omarzai was chosen player of the match for his excellent performance.
