Lucknow: The 44th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium. Rajasthan won this match by 7 wickets and this is their eighth win this season. With this, RR has almost qualified for the playoffs and now their fight will be for the top-2. In this match, RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bowl first and after that, batting first, Lucknow scored 196 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Rajasthan team, which set out to chase the score of 197 runs, achieved it in just 19 overs by losing 3 wickets. Captain Sanju batted brilliantly in this match and led his team to victory. He played an unbeaten inning of 71 runs on 33 balls with the help of 7 fours and 4 sixes. At one time his team was in trouble and Rajasthan lost 3 wickets within 18 runs but after this Samson himself took charge and led his team to victory by playing an inning of 71 runs.

In this match, young batsman Dhruv Jurel also batted well for RR and scored the first half-century of his IPL career. He played an unbeaten inning of 52 runs on 34 balls. During this, 5 fours and 2 sixes came from his bat. Apart from Sanju and Jurel, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler had given a good start. There was a partnership of 60 runs between the two players for the first wicket. Yashasvi played an inning of 24 runs, while Butler played an inning of 34 runs. Whereas for Rajasthan, fast bowler Sandeep Sharma bowled brilliantly and took 2 wickets while giving 31 runs in 4 overs.
