Kavya Maran has also bought the Northern Superchargers team in The Hundred, but now the head coach of this team and former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has suddenly separated from the team. The interesting thing is that even though his salary was increased, he still felt that the money was less. Andrew Flintoff told in a podcast that he will not be the coach of Northern Superchargers in The Hundred next season. Flintoff alleged that the new owners of the franchise did not value him. Flintoff said that he has rejected the new offer from the team's new owners and Sun Group.
Speaking on the Beard Before Wicket podcast, Flintoff said, 'I don't really do this for the money, but I'm worth more than a quarter of the salary of other head coaches.' 47-year-old Flintoff said that he is not happy with the attitude of the new team management, according to him he did not get the value he deserved.
The Sun Group, owners of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA 20, have reacted to Flintoff's departure. The Sun Group told that Flintoff was offered a salary increase but we respect his decision. Sun Group said, 'We discussed with Freddie and made him an offer, which was higher than his current salary at Northern Superchargers. Although we would have liked to include him in the team, we respect his decision. Flintoff says that he has made Superchargers a better team. Earlier this team used to struggle but now it has become the main contender for the playoffs, so it is disappointing to leave this team.
