New Zealand women went on to secure their first win of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 against Bangladesh women on October 10 at Guwahati.

They went on to score a 100-run victory in the game against Bangladesh women on Friday’s clash. By this win, they went on to jump to the 5th match of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 Points table.

After choosing to bat first, New Zealand had a slow start as they lost openers, Georgia Plimmer and Suzie Bates within the power play.

With Rabeya Khan bagging the wicket of Plimmer for 4 runs, Bates got dismissed for 29 runs on a runout.

With dismissal of Amelia Kerr for 1 run, Sophie Devine and Brooke Halliday went on to stitch a partnership of 112 runs as the duo went on to smash fifty each.

Khatun got the breakthrough, dismissing Brooke Halliday for 69 runs, while Nishita went on to dismiss Devine for 63 runs.

Rabeya Khan went on to bag her third wicket, as Maddy Green was sent back to the dugout for 25 runs. Jess Kerr’s run-out has further restricted run flow for New Zealand.

After Isabella Gaze’s dismissal for 12 runs, Lea Tahuhu made a small cameo, scoring 12* runs, helping New Zealand to post 227 runs in their innings.

Rabeya khan bagged three wickets for the side, while marufa akter, nahida akter, nishita akter nishi and fahima khatun end with 1 wicket each.

Shobana Mostary and Nigar Sultana went back to the dugout for cheap dismissals, and Sumaiay Akter’s dismissals for 1 run have left Bangladesh losing five wickets for 30 runs.

However, Fahima Khatun went on to show some resistance, making a small partnership with Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khan.

On the 40th over, Bangladesh Women went on to lose all 10 wickets for 127 runs and lost the game by 100 runs.
