Delhi: The second match of the three-match ODI series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh was played on Saturday, 11 October 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. In this match, Afghanistan performed brilliantly and defeated Bangladesh by 81 runs and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Zadran saved the honor of Afghanistan

Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. The team had a slow start, but Ibrahim Zadran played a brilliant innings. He scored 95 runs in 140 balls, which included 3 fours and 1 six. Whereas Rahmat scored 9 runs, but he was retired out. In the beginning Rahmanullah Gurbaz was out after scoring only 11 runs.

Afghanistan faced some difficulties in the middle order. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi scored only 4 runs and experienced Mohammad Nabi also returned to the pavilion after scoring 22 runs. In the end, Ghazanfar (22) scored some runs by hitting 2 fours and 1 six, but the team was all out for 190 runs in 44.5 overs.

Captain Mehdi Hasan Miraz bowled the best for Bangladesh. He took 3 wickets. Whereas, Tanzeem Hasan Saqib and Rishad Hussain took 2-2 wickets.

Bangladesh’s innings ended at 109 runs

The Bangladesh team, which set out to chase the target, had a very bad start. Opener Tanjeed Hasan was out without opening the account. After that wickets kept falling one after the other. only saif hassan
(22), Tauheed Hriday (24), Jakar Ali (18) and Noorul Hasan (15) could only last for some time. Apart from this, no batsman could even cross the double figures.

Talking about Afghanistan’s bowling, Rashid Khan took 5 wickets and completely dominated the Bangladeshi batsmen. Azmatullah Omarzai also took 3 important wickets. The entire Bangladesh team was all out after scoring only 109 runs in 28.3 overs.

With this victory, Afghanistan has achieved an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Now the third and last ODI match is just a formality. This match will be played on 14 October in Abu Dhabi only.
