Many important steps have been taken by Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway to increase awareness about water security, clean drinking water supply and cleanliness. Recently, inspection of water treatment plants, pipeline maintenance and awareness programs were organized at various stations and colonies of the divisional area.

At Kharagpur station, the engineering department team did the work of repairing and protecting the hydrant pipe. This ensured uninterrupted water supply to trains. Officials said that this will bring efficiency in operations and prevent problems like leakage.

The water purification plant and hypochlorite production and iron removal plant located in Kharagpur Settlement area were also inspected. During this, the quality of water, filtration system and functioning of the plant were reviewed.

Railway officials said that our aim is to provide clean and safe drinking water to railway employees and passengers.

He said that water treatment plants in Kharagpur division are being regularly inspected and maintenance work is being given priority. This will not only improve the quality of water but will also ensure water security.

Message of cleanliness in Amrit Samvad

In the Amrit Samvad program organized at Kharagpur and Mecheda stations, railway officials, employees and passengers took a pledge to maintain cleanliness.
