India Women vs Australia Women World Cup Match Result: Australia once again broke the hearts of Team India in the World Cup. In an exciting match of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 played in Visakhapatnam, Australia women's team defeated Team India by 3 wickets on the basis of an explosive century by captain Alyssa Healy. With the help of Healy's century, Australia achieved the difficult target of 331 runs and made the record of the biggest successful run chase in women's ODI history. This is Australia's third win in the tournament, while India's second consecutive defeat.
Everyone expected tremendous entertainment from this super match played on Sunday 12th October and the same happened. In the entire match, both the teams together hit a lot of sixes and fours and scored a total of 661 runs. But Team India, playing in front of its home fans, had to face a heart-breaking defeat and ultimately Australia once again showed why it is the current world champion.
After winning the toss, Australia decided to bowl first and the Indian team took advantage of this. The pair of Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal, who failed to do anything special in the last 3 matches, batted brilliantly this time. The Indian openers together made a partnership of 155 runs for the first wicket within 25 overs. During this, Mandhana scored her first half-century in the tournament and was out after scoring 80 runs (66 balls). Pratika also scored her first fifty and returned to the pavilion after scoring 75 runs.
After this, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodriguez, Harleen Deol and Richa Ghosh played short but fast innings and took the team beyond 300 runs. But no batsman could score big and due to the last 6 wickets falling for only 36 runs, the entire team was all out on the score of 330 runs in 48.5 overs. Annabel Sutherland took 5 wickets for Australia.
For Australia too, the opening pair of Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield made a fast start and added 85 runs in just 11.2 overs. After this, captain Alyssa Healy scored her sixth ODI century in just 84 balls. During this, Elise Parry retired hurt and returned to the pavilion, while Beth Mooney and Sutherland were out cheaply. But Healy, along with Ashley Gardner, batted stormily and made a partnership of 95 runs to ensure the team's victory.
When Australia was moving towards an easy victory, the Indian bowlers including Amanjot Kaur made a comeback by taking 4 wickets including Healy (142) and Gardner (45) in 38 runs. At such a time, Ellis Perry (47 not out) again stepped on the crease and along with Kim Garth took the team to victory in 49 overs. While Team India did not even play the entire 49th over, Perry gave his team a record breaking victory by hitting a six on the last ball of the 49th over.
