Delhi: New Zealand announced its team for the T20 series against England on 12 October. The series will start from October 18. Mitchell Santner has returned to the team after surgery. He was out of the home T20 series against Australia due to stomach surgery.

Williamson out of T20 team

Kane Williamson will not participate in this T20 series. He has chosen a casual contract and is currently away from T20 cricket. He returned to New Zealand on 9 October. However, he will make a comeback in the ODI series against England which will start from October 26.

coach’s statement

Head coach Rob Walter said that Williamson is currently suffering from a minor medical problem and will not play in the T20 series. He expressed hope that Williamson would be fully fit and available for ODI matches within two weeks. Williamson last played against India in the Champions Trophy 2025 final.

Rachin Ravindra also returns

Rachin Ravindra has also returned to the team along with Santner. He was out due to a facial injury during practice before the series against Australia. Coach Walter said that Rachin’s return will strengthen the team.

Ish Sodhi out of the team

The biggest name missing from the team is leg spinner Ish Sodhi. He has not been selected for the T20 series. At the same time, James Neesham has been retained in the team.

Injured player out of the team

Many important players of New Zealand are out of the team due to injury. These include Ben Sears (hamstring), Finn Allen, Adam Milne, Will O’Rourke, Glenn Phillips and Lockie Ferguson. The team was missing these players in the series against Australia.
