Nepal qualified with excellent performance

Nepal has won all four of its matches so far in the Super-6 stage of the East Asia Pacific Qualifier. Due to this brilliant performance, he has reached the first position in the points table. The team ensured its place in the World Cup with consistent good play.

Oman also made a place

Oman is also included in the top-2 of the points table and has also qualified for the T20 World Cup to be held next year. The team secured its ticket on the basis of stable performance.

Benefit from UAE’s victory

United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s 77-run victory over Samoa on Wednesday proved beneficial for both Nepal and Oman. This result made it easier for them to secure a place in the World Cup 2026.

Currently, UAE is at third place in the points table, but its place in T20 World Cup 2026 has not been decided yet.

When did Oman and Nepal take part?

Oman team has played the previous i.e. 2024 T20 World Cup. This will be the third time that the Oman team will participate in this tournament. Before this, she had also played in the T20 World Cup of 2016 and 2024. On the other hand, Nepal has also qualified for the T20 World Cup for the third time. However, neither Oman nor Nepal were able to advance beyond the first round in the 2024 World Cup.

20 teams will participate

A total of 20 teams will participate in the T20 World Cup 2026. This tournament will start from 7th February and will be played till 8th March. It will be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka. Like the 2024 World Cup, this time too the teams will reach the Super-8 after the group stage, after which the knockout stage will be played.
