Temporary ban on parcel traffic in Delhi area from 15 to 26 October in view of Diwali and Chhath.

Moradabad, 16 October (Read News). In view of Diwali and Chhath, there will be a temporary ban on parcel traffic in Delhi area from October 15 to October 26.

Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said on Thursday evening that in view of the rush of Diwali and Chhath, for the convenient movement of passengers, temporary restrictions have been imposed on all types of parcel transactions (including leased SLR, VP) in Delhi area (ie New Delhi, Delhi Junction, and Anand Vihar Terminal) from October 17 to October 26 and direct booking through Railways will also be banned from October 15. There will be a temporary ban from 26th October. Parcel warehouses and platforms will remain free from parcel packages/packing and both inward and outward parcel traffic including leased SLRs and VPs is prohibited at all the above stations.

The CPRO further informed that only personal belongings can be allowed in passenger coaches and booking of registered newspapers and magazines will be allowed after completing all business formalities. This restriction is applicable on all types of parcel transactions (including leased SLR, VP) in trains running from Delhi region stations (i.e. New Delhi, Delhi Junction and Anand Vihar Terminal) and will also be applicable on trains passing through other divisions/zones having stoppages for loading/unloading in Delhi region.
