Rohit Sharma will return to international cricket with the ODI series against Australia, starting on October 19. Rohit is only active in the fifty-over format, having retired from Test cricket and T20Is. He is just one match away from reaching a massive record and will join Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in the list.

Rohit has been a part of 499 international matches and will compete in his 500th contest when he takes the field on October 19. Sachin is leading the list with 664 matches under his belt.

Rohit made his India debut in the ODI against Ireland in 2007. He was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning team. Rohit cemented his place in the white-ball teams in 2013.

In 67 Tests, he scored 4301 runs, while in 158 T20Is, he managed 4231 runs. He bid aediu to the shortest format after India won the 2024 T20 World Cup. The veteran retired from Test cricket before the tour of England this year.

Meanwhile, he was sacked from ODI captaincy, with Shubman Gill replacing him in ODIs.
