Suryakumar Yadav discusses the impact of Shubman Gill’s rise in cricket and their camaraderie on and off the field

Suryakumar Yadav said he doesn’t let fear affect his performances for India.

Shubman Gill‘s era has started. He is leading in Tests and ODIs and tte right-handed batter is Suryakumar Yadav’s deputy in T20Is. Gill will replace Suryakumar in the future. Yadav reacted to Gill’s rising stature.

“I won’t lie, everyone feels that fear. But it drives you,” Suryakumar said at Express Adda.

SKY says nothing has changed between him and Gill. They share a great bond on and off the field.

“I’m happy that he’s leading in two formats. Gill and I share a great bond both off the field and on it. I know his qualities as a player and as a human being. I’m happy for him,” Suryakumar added.

Suryakumar Yadav said he doesn’t let fear affect his performances for India.

“If I let such things influence me, my first ball at the international level wouldn’t have been the same. I believe that consistent hard work, discipline, and personal honesty will take care of everything else,” Suryakumar said.

Gill will lead India in the ODI series in Australia starting October 19. Suryakumar Yadav will return as T20I captain for the five games from Oct 29 to Nov 8.
