SLW vs BANW Playing 11: Chamari Athapaththu-led Sri Lanka will square off against Nigar Sultana-led Bangladesh in the 21st match of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on October 20 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
Sri Lanka is running a winless campaign in the ongoing tournament, having suffered three defeats out of five games, with two games abandoned due to rain.
On the other hand, Bangladesh secured only one win out of five games and will need some serious wins if they need a decent run in the campaign.
Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka secured 6th and 7th positions of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 points table.
Sri Lanka and Bangladesh has met on 3 occasions where Sri Lanka has two wins and one game ended with no result.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. Speaking at the toss, Chamari Athapaththu said, “We willl bat first, surface looks good for batting. After 3-4 games, feel good because we see sunshine finally, hopefully we can play some good cricket today. We have to execute our plans. We have one change. Udeshika Prabodhani comes in for Piumi Wathsala.”
Meanwhile, Nigar Sultana said, “Our bowlers have been doing well consistently, hoping to restrict them to a total that we can chase. We have good spinners and we just want to give our 100 percent. We have 2 changes. Marufa Akter and Nahida Akter are back in the side.”
