Gurugram: Cleanliness and waste management will be made more effective: Pradeep Dahiya

Gurugram, 21 October (Read News). Municipal Corporation Gurugram is continuously taking concrete steps to further improve the cleanliness system and waste management of the city. The cleanliness teams of the corporation are engaged every day in improving the cleanliness system in their respective areas and ensuring a clean environment for the citizens.

On Tuesday, Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya reviewed the cleanliness system of the city and gave clear instructions to the officials to work in mission mode with full commitment, so that positive change can be seen in the city. In the meeting held at the corporation office, he paid special attention to high priority cleaning projects. The Municipal Commissioner laid emphasis on the construction of secondary waste collection points and making their arrangements more systematic. He said that Sikandarpur Point will be developed in a better way. Under this, a boundary wall is being constructed there, beautiful painting will be done and big pots will be placed in front. He clearly said that garbage should not come out of any secondary point and for this round the clock employees will be deployed there. This will increase monitoring and the collection points will remain organized. Along with this, arrangements for regular garbage collection from secondary garbage collection points will also be ensured. It was informed in the meeting that boundary wall work has been completed at Beriwala Bagh, Kanhaiyi and Sikandarpur secondary garbage collection points.

In the meeting, the Municipal Commissioner also gave instructions to develop Material Recovery Facility (MRF), so that reuse and recycling of waste can be done smoothly. He instructed the officials that the roads where cleaning is possible with mechanized road sweeping machines during the day should be done during the day and its effective monitoring should also be ensured. Some MRFs will be developed under CSR funds. Under this, an MOU will soon be signed with Nagaro.

Apart from this, the Municipal Commissioner directed to take effective and swift action against those dumping horticultural waste, stray cattle and illegal garbage. He said that such strict action will increase awareness among citizens and help in keeping the city clean and beautiful. Special attention will be given to cleaning the main roads of the city and monitoring of cleaning work will be increased. The corporation administration is active at every level to make the city clean, organized and environment friendly and no stone will be left unturned in implementing it. Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner Dr. Naresh Kumar, Vishal Kumar and Ravindra Malik and other officers were present in the meeting.
