– Students from different areas of the state will showcase local culture and folk arts.
Bhopal, 24 October (Read News). The two-day state level art festival of the School Education Department in Madhya Pradesh will start from today (Friday) at 10 am in Bhopal. The objective of the program is to provide a platform to the school students to showcase their art, culture and heritage. The program will be organized at Madhya Pradesh Land and Water Management Institute (WALMI) at Kaliyasot, Kolar Road.
Public Relations Officer Mukesh Modi said that about 250 school students from different areas of the state will present in the two-day state level art festival. These students have been selected in the state level competition on the basis of best presentation by the students in 9 divisions. In the festival, presentations of folk dances to the region along with Malvi and Bundeli folk songs, Baredin Badhaai, Dhimmi Rai, Gaur dance will be given. Students will present readings based on drama and storytelling. The specialty of the art festival will be short plays based on the lives of Queen Durgavati and Queen Ahilyabai Holkar.
He told that in the category of musical instruments in the art festival, students will give wonderful musical presentations through traditional musical instruments like flute, sitar, tabla, timki, dholak and tura. The land of Madhya Pradesh has always been the mother of art. Bhimbetka and its caves are a witness to ancient painting. In the festival, students will display their paintings based on Pithora, Gond art and Malwa painting. Competitions based on sculpture, painting and local games and toys will also be a special attraction of this festival. The State Level Arts Festival-2025 will conclude on 25th October. Senior officials and educationists of the school education department will be present in the inaugural session.
