Mohammad Kaif has made a big statement on the new ODI skipper, Shubman Gill, leading Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the three-match series against Australia. Kaif said that Gill is feeling the guilt of captaining Rohit, considering how the senior cricketer was sacked from the post.

Kaif mentioned that Sharma didn’t do anything wrong but still lost the captaincy. According to a former player, Gill needs time to get used to the situation.

“A new captain needs time. A proven match-winner is playing under Gill. Gill knows that Rohit didn’t do anything wrong but was removed from captaincy. When Gill goes to sleep, he must be thinking about Rohit and the captaincy. He must be feeling guilty that people are backing him, but think about Rohit bhai. Rohit won trophies for India but was removed,” Kaif said.

“He has the big task of leading Rohit and Virat. This is a new phase for Gill as a captain in the fifty-over format. Whenever he leads Rohit and Kohli, he will feel nervous. The runs are not coming from Gill’s bat, and India lost a bilateral series after a long time,” he added. India and Australia will compete in the third and final match on October 25.
