Australia’s Alana King records best-ever figures by a bowler in Women’s World Cup

Australian leggie Alana King recorded the best bowling figures in the history of Women’s World Cup during the match against South Africa on Saturday at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

She took seven wickets for 18 runs in seven overs to better New Zealand player Jackie Lord’s figures of 6/10 against India in the 1982 edition.

King became the fifth player in World Cup history to take six or more wickets in an innings — joining Lord, Glenys Page, Sophie Ecclestone, and Anya Shrubsole.
