India defeated Australia by 9 wickets in the third ODI played in Sydney. Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s match-winning inning of 121 runs proved important in this spectacular victory. Along with this, Virat Kohli also played an unbeaten inning of 74 runs and led India towards victory. However, despite this victory, Australia has won the series 2-1.

Batting first, Australia could score only 236 runs in 50 overs. The Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and did not give the Australian batsmen a chance to survive. Harshit Rana bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets, which is his best performance in any match in this format.

However, India’s innings had a bit of a struggling start when Shubman Gill was out after scoring 24 runs. His performance in this series was not special and he could score only 43 runs in three matches. But then the pair of Virat and Rohit together put the team in front of the small target of 237 runs. Rohit Sharma scored 121 runs in his innings and Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 74 runs to lead India to victory. This was also the first win for Shubman Gill as ODI captain.
