Overview:

The real excitement for fans will come with the return of Rohit and Kohli in India’s upcoming ODI series against South Africa.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli capped off India’s tour of Australia with a dominant nine-wicket victory in the third and final ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. However, their future in the 50-over format remains uncertain. Australia reached 236 in 46.4 overs, with Harshit Rana taking four wickets, while Rohit anchored the chase for India, remaining unbeaten on 121 from 125 balls.

Rohit Sharma first put on a 69-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill (24) before teaming up with Kohli for an unbroken 168-run stand, with Kohli making 74 not out off 81 balls. India chased down 237/1 in 38.3 overs, claiming a consolation victory after losing the first two ODIs.

While their availability for the 2027 ODI World Cup is not confirmed, fans might not have to wait too long to see them return to action.

As they have retired from T20Is and Tests, Rohit and Kohli will not be part of the T20I series against Australia. Afterward, India will face South Africa in a two-match Test series, concluding on November 26.

The real excitement for fans will come with the return of Rohit and Kohli in India’s upcoming ODI series against South Africa. Scheduled from November 30 to December 6, the three-match series will be held in Ranchi, Raipur, and Vishakhapatnam.
