Jaunpur, 25 October (Read News). The body of a person was found in a bush in Fattupur village of Sujanganj police station area on Friday morning. The deceased was identified as Basantu Pal (52), resident of Haripur, Karaundi Kala, Sultanpur. Police have arrested two accused in this case.
On Saturday morning, the deceased’s wife Malti Devi filed a complaint against two people. After this, the police team arrested Triveni Pathak, resident of Parsath (Belwa Bazaar) of Jaunpur and Sattan, resident of Kazakpur Dhobighat, Varanasi. The knife used in the murder has also been recovered from him. Giving information about this matter on Saturday, Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Atish Kumar Singh said that the police investigation revealed that the deceased Basantu Pal used to work as an exorcist. The wife of Sattan, one of the arrested accused, was not able to have a child for almost 10 years. For this, Sattan had got his wife’s exorcism done by Basantu Pal. The accused had given a lot of money to Basantu Pal in the name of exorcism, but they did not get any benefit. After this the accused asked for the money given by them. Due to this dispute, the accused murdered Basantu Pal by slitting his throat with a knife and threw the body in a bush in a deserted place. Police have unveiled the case and arrested both the accused. He has been presented in the court.
