Boiler explodes in tire factory in Saharanpur, two workers killed, five injured

Saharanpur, 26 October (Read). The boiler of a factory that extracts oil from tires exploded in Shekhpura Kadim, a village adjacent to the city in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. In this accident, two laborers died and five laborers were seriously injured. There is also said to be gas leakage in the factory due to boiler explosion. It is feared that both the laborers died due to suffocation after getting burnt. Fire brigade personnel took out the bodies of the workers from the factory.

The incident took place in Shekhpura Kadim village of Kotwali Dehat area. There is a factory here to extract oil from tyres. It was inaugurated only a week ago. Sunday late evening the factory was running normally. A fire broke out after the boiler suddenly exploded. After this there was gas leakage. On receiving information, a team of fire brigade personnel arrived and started the rescue operation. The injured workers were sent to the hospital. During this period two laborers had died. Five workers are injured.

SP City Vyom Bindal said that initial investigation revealed that the fire was caused by boiler explosion. After this there was gas leakage. It is believed that after getting burnt, the workers could not come out and died of suffocation. But the cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report comes. How the accident occurred is also being investigated. Action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
