Batsman Karun Nair, who was dropped from the Indian team, has once again come into the limelight. He managed to play an important innings for Karnataka in the match being played against Goa. He played a century at an important moment. At one point in the first innings of this match, Karnataka had scored only 65 runs and lost 4 wickets. But Karun Nair made a strong comeback for his team. Due to which Karnataka team was successful in crossing the 300 run mark.

Karun Nair batted very carefully and maintained one side. He remained unbeaten on 86 runs on 138 balls on the first day of the game, while on the second day he extended his innings and completed his century on 163 balls, which included 8 fours and 1 six. He did not stop here and remained unbeaten after scoring 140 runs till lunch of the second day. During this period he played a total of 226 balls. This innings is special for Karun Nair in many ways, because he has recently been dropped from Team India. At the same time, in the first match of Ranji Trophy 2025-26, an inning of 73 runs was seen from his bat.

Karun Nair was included in Team India for the Test series played on the England tour. He returned to the team after many years. But he could not play even a single big innings on this tour. He crossed the 50-run mark in only 1 out of 8 innings, due to which he was not selected in the team for the recent India-West Indies Test series.
